The Role:
We are seeking a Specialist/Consultant Obs and Gynae to join a dedicated team working in a stunning tropical location in a redeveloped Hospital equipped with leading edge technology!

You will be expected to manage a generalist workload in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The unit has a strong focus on providing quality care centred and focussed on the woman and her family.  A team committed to rebuilding a positive workforce culture.

The unit has approximately 1200 deliveries per year. Many low-risk women are cared for by midwives antenatally and in labour. The hospital has a nursery capable of accepting babies from 31-32 weeks gestation.

The Hospital:
This is a level 2 hospital (354) beds with 24-hour cardiac intervention, trauma service, medical specialities including Respiratory, Nephrology, Neurology, Endocrine, Rheumatology, Oncology on site with visiting specialists in other disciplines.

To reflect the growing demand for health care in the region, the Hospital has been redeveloped at a cost of $408 million. The redeveloped hospital is a digital hospital, equipped with leading edge technology to assist staff to provide the highest level of care and comfort to patients. It is the first regional hospital in Queensland to have the complete integrated electronic medical record.

Location:
A vibrant tropical location, home to a diverse and energetic community with rural and coastal living opportunities.  The region stretches from secluded islands off the coast through golden sand beaches and into lush sub-tropical rain forests.
This is one of the fastest growing regions in Queensland, currently a population of approximately 182,000 people in the region, only just over an hour’s flight from Brisbane.

Mandatory qualifications/Professional registration:
Fellowship or eligibility for Fellowship with RANZCOG or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia.
RANZCOG assessed as substantially comparable will be considered
