Locum Hospital Senior Speech Pathologist - Mackay, QLD

Locum Speech Pathologist required for a locum in Mackay, Queensland. Full time hours, 76 hours per fortnight.

The Speech Pathology Service delivers care to patients, both children and adults, throughout our hospital departments as well as in outpatient, community and rural settings. The Speech Pathologists provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management to children and adults needing help with communication and/or swallowing.
 

You must have:

  • Clinical experience within acute/hospital settings
  • Clinical experience with one or more of the following:
    • Videofluoroscopic Swallow Study (VFSS) 
    • Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation Of Swallowing (FEES)
    • Laryngectomy
    • Paediatric feeding and dysphagia
    • Tracheostomy

Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of ieMR and proficiency in using this system
  • Previous experience working in Australia

 

The following competencies/training are also required:

  • Paid Blue Card
  • Manual and patient handling
  • Infection control
  • Aggressive behaviour management
  • Mandatory reporting by Registered Nurses, and/or Midwifes for reasonable suspicions of child abuse and neglect

 
Additionally, the candidate must agree to undertake any of the following as required by the HHS:

  • Integrated electronic medical record training
  • Online induction training
  • Any other training as requested

 
 
Additional info:

  • Locum rates up to $84 + super depending on experience
  • Accommodation provided – local but upto 7km from the facility
  • Upto $350 each way for travel
  • There will be credentialing paperwork to complete before you can commence
