Locum Hospital Podiatrist – locum rates upto $83.06 + super   - Brisbane, QLD

HP3 or HP4 Podiatrist required for locum with remote health service based in South West Queensland, approximately five hours drive from Brisbane. You will join an allied health team of 25.
 
The caseload is high risk foot focused rural generalist – everything from musculoskeletal to skin pathology to neurovascular assessments with a focus on treating people with active foot disease i.e. foot ulceration and related pathology.
 
It’s community based out of a hospital OPD – so they see predominantly hospital outpatients but also cover inpatients and some residential care and multipurpose health service residents.
 
The service has links to metro and visiting services with increasing involvement with a telehealth-based integrated multidisciplinary high risk foot service based in Brisbane and this is one of 2 podiatry positions in a broader multidisciplinary team that includes among others dietitian, OT, physio, diabetes educators, social workers, speech pathologists, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander liaison officers, wound care nurses, nurse navigators and others. 

Outreach is to towns north, east and west between 50 and 120km away and happens 1-2x/week.

  • Experience with high risk foot care preferred
  • You’ll be working with a senior clinician and providing supervision to Allied Health Assistants working in basic nail care.
  • Locum rates upto $83.06 + super per hour depending on experience.
  • FREE accommodation provided + travel assistance upto $200 each way.
