Consultant/Specialist Geriatrician - Melbourne, VIC

As a Consultant Geriatrician, you will: 

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care to older adults, managing complex medical conditions across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. 
  • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to develop individualized care plans for patients. 
  • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of geriatric models of care, including orthogeriatric, cognitive assessment clinics, and rehabilitation services. 
  • Supervise and mentor junior doctors, registrars, and allied health professionals. 
  • Collaborate with local healthcare providers and community organizations to enhance continuity of care and promote healthy aging.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Registration with AHPRA as a specialist in Geriatric Medicine (or eligibility for registration). 
  • Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Geriatric Medicine or equivalent. 
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex geriatric cases and providing holistic care. 
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. 
  • A commitment to improving geriatric care services through innovation and education.
