Consultant/Specialist General Surgeon - Newcastle, NSW

  • Salary Type: Salary package up to $370,000

The Opportunity:
We’re seeking a General Surgeon with subspecialty accreditation in Breast Endocrine or Upper GI Surgery to join a supportive and high-functioning surgical team. You’ll work collaboratively with Specialists and VMOs, providing expert care across a wide geographical region in NSW.

Employment Type: Permanent (Staff Specialist) / Sessional (VMO)
Hours: 40 hours/week (Staff Specialist) or per roster (VMO)

Selection Criteria

  1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist, or via an overseas-trained specialist pathway
  2. Fellowship with the applicable College (e.g. FRACS)
  3. Subspecialty accreditation in Breast Endocrine or Upper GI
  4. Strong clinical leadership and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
  5. Commitment to teaching, quality improvement, and community engagement
  6. Availability to participate in an on-call roster
