We are looking for experienced and motivated Consultant/Specialist Anaesthetists to join our dynamic Anaesthetic Department. As a Consultant Specialist Anaesthetist, you will lead and manage anaesthetic and perioperative services, train junior doctors, and contribute to research and innovation in regional anaesthesia.

Generous Salary & Benefits – Up to $496,915 per year, including:
- Attraction & Retention Allowance (50% of base salary)
- Motor Vehicle Allowance ($21,000 – $25,500 p.a.)
- Professional Development Allowance ($21,500 + 3.6 weeks leave)
- 4-6 weeks annual leave + 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer superannuation contributions
Diverse Case Mix & Special Interests – Gain experience in regional, trauma, obstetric, paediatric, and complex anaesthesia cases.
Your Role & Responsibilities:
- Provide anaesthesia services for complex elective and emergency cases.
- Supervise and train anaesthetic registrars, fellows, and junior doctors.
- Conduct pre-operative assessments, pain management, and critical care consultations.
- Support outreach services in rural and regional areas of North Queensland.
- Engage in quality improvement, research, and multidisciplinary team collaboration.
Who We’re Looking For
Fellowship of ANZCA or equivalent, with AHPRA Specialist Registration.
Experience in general and complex anaesthesia, perioperative medicine, and pain management.
Strong leadership, teaching, and mentorship skills.
Commitment to clinical governance, patient safety, and hospital accreditation standards.
Ability to work in regional and outreach settings, supporting underserved communities.
Class C motor vehicle licence (required for travel between THHS facilities).
