Consultant/Specialist Anaesthetist - Sydney, NSW

  • Salary Type: Salary package up to $370,000

The Position:
We are seeking enthusiastic/skilled Consultant/Specialist Anaesthetists to join a dedicated department that is accredited for training. Join a tertiary level Faculty of Pain Medicine accredited Pain Unit. Come and live in justifiably a world-famous location!

  • 15.7 operating theatres and a 24 bedded ICU

  • SIMG (international medical graduates) Anaesthetists will be consider subject to meeting the relevant equivalency, registration, and visa requirements.

All surgical specialties are provided except for cardiac and major paediatric surgery. The department is ANZCA accredited and has approximately 70 specialist anaesthetists and 35 trainees. There is also a tertiary level Faculty of Pain Medicine accredited Pain Unit.

This is justifiably a world-famous location!! Clean fresh air, spectacular flora & fauna, and a comfortable, temperate climate.
For the outdoor adventurer there is bushwalking, popular mountain biking and historical exploration all on offer in this World Heritage region.

Eating out is a very popular past time, with numerous restaurants, cafes, clubs and pubs available in the area. Enjoy local theatre, wander through the weekend craft markets or picnic with friends in the park, the choice is yours.  The area is well serviced by both bus and rail, with regular express rail services to the city providing an economical and relaxing alternative to rigors of daily motoring.

Selection Criteria

  • Possess or be eligible for specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) OR be eligible for the international medical graduate specialist accreditation pathway through ANZCA.
  • Possess Fellowship of the Australia New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent
  • Sound clinical knowledge in Anaesthesia demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
