About the role… 

This role will see you joining a major health service focused on meeting the future needs of individuals and families living in Queensland’s West Moreton region. With this region experiencing rapid population growth, the health service is focussed on developing a robust hospital and health service including fit-for-purpose health and well-being spaces, interconnected buildings and multidisciplinary health services, along with research, education and community partnerships.
 
The regions Older Persons Mental Health Service provides expert mental health treatment, care and support to adults over the age of 65 who are experiencing mental illness, dementia with associated behavioural conditions and/or other age-related illnesses.

As the successful applicant, your responsibilities will include providing direct clinical care; ensuring high-quality clinical activity within the Adult Mental Health Service; supporting the development of contemporary and evidence-based specialist Older Persons psychiatry services; advocating and providing strategic advice regarding higher level clinical governance activities; and undertaking training, education, clinical and professional supervision of junior medical officers and medical staff.
